September 2015 Online Character Pumpkin Workshops
STOLLOWEEN Studio's September 2015 Online Workshop schedule. These workshops are an effective way to learn to work with papier mache on a project specific basis.
Each class is three sessions long, one class a week for three weeks.
During each session you have the opportunity to watch a live demonstration of the steps needed to complete your project as well as interact by asking questions specific to your particular project.
The atmosphere is casual and friendly, this is not rocket science, but there is a lot of information covered so be prepared to do a lot of work.
Please read the workshop technical requirements and registration instructions carefully.
Online Workshops Require:
-A computer with high-speed internet access and a webcam, microphone, and headphones. (Please use headphones to reduce feedback)
-Access to materials required to make paper clay including flour, cellulose insulation, and drywall joint compound.
Online Workshops Offer:
-Complete listing of tools and materials.
-Project templates. (If Applicable)
-Four live webcam sessions.
-Instruction specific to your goals.
-Support via email and text.
Online Papier Mache Character Pumpkin Workshop (4.5 hours total)
Introducing the New Character Pumpkin Workshop, a completely new approach to creating papier mache pumpkins that is much easier and yields superior results.
Gone are the days of stuffing a garbage bag with newspaper or working with an inflated beach ball, while great techniques this new method is much better.
The Character Pumpkin Workshop will allow you to:
-Create any shape pumpkin you desire easily and precisely. (pear, oval, squashed)
-Build a pumpkin of any size.
-Reduce amount of strip mache needed.
-Achieve faster dry times.
-Create complex mouth features quickly and easily.
-Design and incorporate extreme three-dimensional features.
The photo above shows the pumpkins with about two hours of work invested at this point.
The new techniques dramatically reduce the total amount of time needed to finish a papier mache pumpkin.
NOTE: This workshop requires cellulose fiber insulation to make the paper clay used in the process. Please make sure you have access to this material before registering.
Price: $100.00 USD per person.
*Please note class size is limited to six participants.

Papier-mâché Miniature Village
Last
August I started offering Papier-mâché miniature village classes
where participants could created small houses or building in a scale that
matched that of Dept.
56 , Lemax and HO model railroads. The classes proved to be
tremendously fun and creative. I have never been a fan of working on small
scale Papier-mâché pieces but this workshop proved to be an
exception to the rule. The classes started as making haunted structures but
evolved into Christmas themed, Gingerbread and Seuss inspired Who-ville
buildings.
