S.L.U.G. Zombies

Found a few packages of these very cool zombie figurines at our local Goodwill Thrift Store. Each zombie is about 2.5 inches tall and have some crazy detailing. You can find out more about this series here. 

Creepy Crayola

Stumbled across this Crayola “Monster Mix-Ups  Creativity Kit” for ages 4 and older and since I fit the criteria I knew I had to have it. 

When my kids where younger they had a “Create-A-Critter” kit which was lots of fun.

Basically these are an assortment of plastic plates for the head, torso and feet that you can mix and match into hundreds of different combinations resulting in some wacky characters.

Each plate has a raised design and when you place a piece of paper over the plate and rub with a crayon the design is transferred to the paper.

A simple concept but lots of fun for this person that is well over four years old.

C.R.A.P. Files 007

More goodies from the orange bin, the theme this time is things on four wheels.

There is nothing cooler than Matchbox cars, that is until you add some legendary movie villains.

Freddy and Jason are part of Matchbox Collectibles Character Car Collection-The Monster Series.

Freddy is standing on top of a Chevy Van while Jason perched on a Jeep Cherokee.

A couple other four wheeled gems are some Little Big Head Shredders.

The Wolfman, Invisible Man, Mummy and Dracula all doing their best Tony Hawk imitation.

The entire collection also includes Frankenstein and The Creature From The Black Lagoon, I’m pretty sure I have these guys also, I’m assuming they are packed away in the garage with all the other C.R.A.P.

C .R.A.P. Files 004

Seeing it’s now cold outside I thought it would be a good time to resume rummaging through my many bins of “Collectibles Retained and Packed” or CRAP and see what I could find.

This first thing out of the bin was 16 McDonald’s Happy Meal toys called Stretch Screamers released October 3 through the 30^th in 2003.

According to an online source there were originally eight different monsters available although two were recalled.

The monsters featured mechanical sound, light, liquid or rotating movement. These were pretty cool for Happy Meal toys.

My personal favorite is the mummy which changed faces when the arm was pulled and the mad scientist sporting a squishy expanding brain.

This is good crap.

C.R.A.P. Files 003

Opened another box of C.R.A.P. or “Collectibles Retained and Packed” tucked away in the garage and this one contained some real goodies.

First out of the box was Series One and Series Two of Todd McFarlane’s Monster Playsets.

These sets were produced in the mid 90’s and featured highly detailed action figures and set pieces creating a unique scene with a huge twist of originality.

These toys would be great references pieces when building a room for a haunted house or a display because they are way cool.

Set one included the Hunchback, Werewolf, Frankenstein and Dracula.

Series two consisted of The Sea Creature, The Mummy, The Phantom of the Opera and Dr. Frankenstein.

What’s really cool is that you can combine the Frankenstein sets from both series into one totally kick ass Mad Lab Monster set.

The only set I have opened was Dr. Frankenstein Series Two because toys deserve to be played with and not sealed inside a plastic box.
