Carving Apple Heads

Making shrunken apple heads is a lot of fun and carving the simple faces on the apples really does help develop your sculpting and three dimensional skills.

Here are some nice close up photos showing the freshly carved apples prior to drying.

My dad always sculpted or carved as you will apple heads... I never got the knack of taking away instead of adding on..
I can hardly wait to see what you do with them they are GREAT!

These heads were made in 2006...I sprayed them with polyurethane after they had dried and we still use them today...click the instruction link in the post to see how they turned out.
